My Review
I'm not exactly shy, but the idea of giving a wedding speech never has been high on my list of exciting things to do. In fact, the honor of being asked to speak on such an important day has always been quickly overshadowed by the reality of having to stand in front of all of those people and, well, speak.
I'm quick to imagine the complete silence, the hollow chirping of crickets, and the resounding echo of the joke that no one laughed at. As if that's not bad enough, someone is sure to have captured the whole thing on video, and it's then that you realize that the embarrassing joke will follow you for the rest of your life.

Then someone – a begging, pleading someone who really wanted me to speak at her wedding – suggested that I look into wedding speech samples for inspiration.
Naturally I didn't want to let my sister down and I certainly didn't want to spend the rest of my life listening to how I did just that, so I reluctantly agreed to look for samples. My sister, the bride, took that as an agreement to deliver the speech.
Apparently you can't argue with a bride-to-be. It's not a wise decision.

I was much more interested in whether or not they'd deliver on those flashy promises. The wedding date loomed, however, so I took a chance.
The folks at Instant Wedding Toasts claim they can help anyone, and I figured I was about as close to "anyone" as they were ever going to find.
I was intrigued by the fill-in-the-blank format – visions of the childhood game of Mad Libs bounding through my head – but as it turns out, the system works. Their sample wedding speeches are easy to personalize and I quickly learned that anyone – even me – could fill in the blank to create an excellent wedding speech.
Even better, it only took a few hours from start to finish!
Once they've helped I create the perfect speech with critiques and rewrites (yep, it's English 101 and Creative Writing all over again!), Instant Wedding Toasts takes it one step further by offering tips for delivering the speech.
Just in case that part about imagining the audience in their underwear doesn't work for me, they have advice for calming the ol' nerves and relaxing so that I can say my impeccably honest and beautiful words with a sincere and calm face.
After all, that deer-in-the-headlights look doesn't exactly go with a heartwarming speech – it kind of detracts from the whole thing, you know?
I'm proud to say that I was able to use the wedding speech samples provided by Instant Wedding Toasts to deliver a speech worthy of a hall of fame.
My sister cried, ruined her makeup, and blamed me. My mother was in tears, and I think I even saw my dad's eyes glistening a bit. My new brother-in-law even looked impressed (not that he'd ever admit it).
